Ready for Thanksgiving?

Order your fresh, local Thanksgiving turkey by this Friday, September 30 to avoid disappointment.  Raised on local family farms, these turkeys receive rave reviews every holiday season! We can even roast that turkey for you.  We are also taking orders for beef, pork, lamb, chicken or tofu loaves for the vegetarians in the family. 
Also available:
- Chef Derek’s famous drunken cranberry sauce
- gravy, stuffing
- cheesy mashed potatoes
- complete turkey dinners for one or two

Chef Derek can help with the entire meal if you like – just let us know.  As always we will have the best fresh, local produce in town, and gourmet cheese and other snacks to help you celebrate.

Cooking Class – Thanksgiving Dinner

Intimidated by the thought of cooking a turkey?  Wondering how to create the best accompaniments?  Afraid of hosting your family for a holiday feast?  Sign up for our cooking class “Thanksgiving Dinner for Aspiring Hosts” on Wednesday, September 28 from 6-9pm.  Cost is $45 – includes recipe/info booklet, refreshments, and lots of laughs.  Space is limited – sign up today!

Fraberts Harvest Festival – Saturday, September 24

Part of Wellington County’s “taste.real” Rural Romp.  Stop in for free samples from 11:00am till 4:00pm.  We’ll be featuring Chef Derek’s fall menu, Gordon’s goat cheese, Oro San Carlos award winning olive oil, and much more.  Celebrate the harvest with us!

Thanksgiving

Fraberts is hiring!

Fraberts is looking for an energetic, outgoing, dependable and hard working fresh food enthusiast to become part of the Fraberts family!

 Duties include:
-          greeting customers and assisting them with their food selection,
-          keeping shelves full,
-          keeping store clean and attractive,
-          helping in the kitchen,
-          making pickups and deliveries, and
-          customer check-out.

Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to:
-          multi-task,
-          work quickly and efficiently,
-          work well within a team,
-          be friendly and outgoing to customers,
-          lift heavy boxes (up to 60 lbs),
-          possess a valid driver’s license, and
-          be able to work on Sundays. 

Successful applicants will be hired on a 4-week trial basis to allow time to demonstrate these core abilities.

The position is a maximum of 20 hours per week at $10.25 per hour – working Saturdays, Sundays and potentially some evenings during the week.

Great Festivals and Food in Fergus!

Pipes, Plaid, and Fraberts to Rock Downtown Fergus!

Fergus’ historic downtown will come alive on Thursday, August 11th at 7:30pm to kick off the 66th annual Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games with a parade.

We are thrilled that the champion Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club will be part of this year’s parade.  Even more exciting, the Fraberts family will also be participating!  Come and see us all decked out in our finest Scottish splendor (Fraser tartan, of course) and get your Fraberts gift  to celebrate our world class Scottish Festival and Highland Games!

Downtown Fergus Movie Night

The Fergus BIA, Martin Cooper Hair Design, Cherry Hill Entertainment, and the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games are pleased to present a downtown Fergus outdoor family movie night to follow the parade.
 
The WaterHorse will be presented in an open air theatre located at Stone Gable Hall at 181 St. Andrew St East on Thursday, August 11, 2011. The movie starts at dusk, at approximately 9pm, following the parade.  Bring your lawn chairs and join us!
